EVERTON
Villagers complain of aircraft noise:
Everton Parish Council has received complaints from villagers of noise from aircraft from Robin Hood Airport at Finningley. Residents have complained of training flights which circle to the east of the airport and pass over Everton and Harwell.
Residents of Harwell are said to be able to hear both aircraft landing and taking off. The Airport has rules in place regarding training flights which can only take place during the day and for no more than one hour at a time and says it sticks to the rules.
The Parish Council hopes to be consulted by Doncaster Council planning department on the proposed changes to the Section 106 agreement at Robin Hood which would allow louder quota four aircraft to take off at night.
School safety moves:
Notts County Council has agreed to place a road crossing point outside Everton Primary School after safety concerns were raised by the school and Everton Parish Council.
Parish councillors have met county officials several times and the highways authority have finally agreed to put slow signs either side of the school and mark the crossing point although it will not be controlled by markings on the road.
