Hazel, Molly and Betty giving the cheque to Sue Robinson from George Henderson Lodge

A GENEROUS cheque for £230 was presented to the St Barnabas Hospice George Henderson Lodge Day Therapy Centre by some local ladies.

The money was raised by three remarkably hard-working ladies from Newlands,

Hazel Hill, Molly Denham and Betty Smith all worked together to knit blankets, and cuddly toys, as well as holding raffles,

They also bought dolls from charity shops, washed them, dressed them beautifully and sold them.

A spokesman added: “These wonderful ladies are back knitting again to raise more money and they are still smiling.”

“Well done all three of them and thank you.”
